Madikwe Game Reserve is a stunning Game Reserve situated on the border of South Africa and Botswana. Madikwe has a strong ethical history as it was established in 1991 to economically uplift this otherwise poor area. The introduction of a range of Luxury Safari Lodges to Madikwe has since brought jobs and prosperity to the local Community.
Madikwe Game Reserve is an ideal location for a Family Safari as it is in a 'malaria-free' location. Many of the Safari Lodges within Madikwe such as Jaci's Safari Lodge also cater well for children with facilities such as play areas and rooms with private game drive vehicles. However, Madikwe can also be an ideal venue for a Honeymoon and Bushbaby Travel have even organised weddings within the Game Reserve at Madikwe Safari Lodge.
Madikwe also often offers a more affordable Safari that those in Eastern Cape and Kruger in South Africa as it is less well known. Rates are generally lower and many Safari Lodges within the Game Reserve offer a free nights e.g. Pay 3 but Stay for 4.
However game viewing operated from all the Safari Lodges within the Madikwe Game Reserve are excellent. You would be unlucky not to spot Elephant, Lion, Rhino and Buffalo and possibly the rare Wild Dog from the back of your Safari vehicle!
